I can’t let the holiday pass me by without sharing a Halloween Margarita recipe! I made this one up because I loved the blackberry simple syrup I used in my champagne cocktail last year.It is perfect for this drink because it gives the cocktail such a spooky, fun color and great flavor. Then I mix in the 21 Seeds Valencia Orange tequila, a touch of lemon juice, and a little club soda for sparkle.
The main event of this cocktail is the skull ice cubes. I bought a giant ball ice cube maker and froze skulls in the middle of each cube.
I love that they keep the drink cold and leave a little skull bobbing in your drink when it melts. Other things that would work well include spider rings, rubber eyeballs, or similar ghoulish gifts.
Have a happy and safe Halloween!
Blackberry Orange Margarita
Around Halloween I love to make creepy cocktails to fit the season. This delicious drink is a ghoulish purple from the homemade blackberry syrup. Be sure to get out your specialty ice cube make to ice cubes that are fitting for the season!
2 oz 21 seeds Valencia Orange Tequila
1 oz lemon juice
2 oz Blackberry Simple Syrup
2 oz club soda
Blackberry Syrup
½ cup water
½ cup sugar
6 blackberries cut in half
To make the syrup, add the ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring to make sure the sugar is dissolved. All the syrup to cool slightly, then strain the mixture to remove the blackberry pieces.
Pour the tequila, lemon juice, simple syrup, and club soda into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake well.
Pour the cocktail over a large ice cube and serve immediately.
