Banana Royal and the Daily Greens Smoothie

Today I’m sharing two popular recipes from the smoothie bar I own. The Banana Royal and the Daily Greens Smoothie are ordered all day long and for very different reasons. The Banana Royal is protein packed and is perfect for before or after a workout. A lot of people order it first thing in the morning to get their day off to a healthy start. The Daily Greens smoothie is the best for people looking to get their greens when they don’t have time for a salad. This is one of my personal favorites because it’s perfect for drinking on the go, which I often am.

I always start this smoothie with a frozen banana because I don’t put ice in my smoothies. I cube the banana so it blends well, and then add everything else to the cup. If you want it thinner you can always add a little more liquid, for more protein add a touch more peanut butter or Greek yogurt. The key to making this perfectly drinkable is by blending it really well. I find that a lot of people give it a quick pulse or too, but you really need to blend it for several minutes to make it smooth and drinkable. Then, pour it into a cup and serve with a straw.

The ingredients for this smoothie are a little more involved. I recommend measuring everything out before you fit it into the blender cup. In fact, to make it really easy on yourself you could premeasure the ingredients and keep them in the fridge the night before. This way you can make the smoothie when you wake up with minimal effort. I also find that kids and teens like this drink. It’s a great way to get them to eat their greens if they aren’t big salad eaters.

I hope you enjoy these smoothies in your own home soon!
