Fig & Honey Goat Cheese Board

Updated: Oct 12, 2022

I’ve joined the fun of making cool appetizer boards when friends and family swing by. Assembling these take minutes and there are so many interesting flavor combinations. For this board I’m using Figs & Goat Cheese to set the stage, then adding in complimentary flavors to round it.

I always start with a clean board when I begin these recipes. Sometimes I line the board with parchment paper if I don’t want to damage the board or worry about food seeping into a crack. Then, I start with a nice thick layer of cheese. In this case, I’ve let me goat cheese soften at room temperature and it’s easy to spread around the board in nice, thick layer.

Since I’m using fresh figs to set the flavor profile for this board, I also added in some fresh fig jam for sweetness. Fig and goat cheese are so delicious together! I then drizzled on a little bit of honey, added a touch of black pepper, and finished it out with pistachios for crunch. This board offers a delicious variety of sweet and savory flavors and interesting textures.

I serve a big basket of baguette slices along the goat cheese board, and have a cheese spreading knife so everyone can scoop as much as they want onto their breads. I promise, they’ll be mopping it up before the party is over..

I’m loving this trend of interesting appetizer boards at parties, it really is a nice change from cheese and charcuterie! Enjoy!

Fig & Honey Goat Cheese Board

This is a fun riff on a snack board. Instead of using lots of different meats and cheeses, layer it with goat cheese, fruit, honey, and a touch of crunch. I love the flavors of fig and honey paired with pepper and pistachio. Remember, when you are making these board for an event always make sure it’s very clean. If the surface isn’t smooth, I recommend lining your board with parchment paper!
