Greek Caesar Salad

I love all kinds of salads, which is no surprise since we eat a lot salads and vegetables in Mediterranean cuisine! This Greek Caesar Salad is a fun one because it combines the most delicious parts of the Caesar salad and those of a Greek Salad in one bowl! I couldn’t resist sharing this concept with all of you because I want to emphasize how much fun it can be to tweak recipes to your liking. Food is meant to be fun, so why not take your favorite part of different recipes and make them into one recipe you absolutely love?!

The key to giving this a Greek twist is adding the feta in lieu of Parmesan, sliced olives, and tahini, while keep the traditional components of a romaine-based Caesar salad. I also keep the croutons the same and add chicken for protein to make it a meal. I should note that this would taste excellent with grilled shrimp or broiled salmon on top for your protein. Also, if you want to make this into a side salad you can easily omit the protein altogether

I particularly love this recipe in the cooler months when I’m in the mood for a slightly heartier salad. However, we also love how it tastes during a spring evening when we can finally eat outside and are ready to grilled chicken for dinner again. Also, if you really want to have fun, place a portion of the salad in the center of a whole wheat wrap and make it a Greek Caesar Salad wrap for a fun meal that’s easy to transport, too.

I hope you love this fun Greek twist on a favorite. It’s really worth giving a try when you’re in the mood to try something new and fun. I hope this recipe makes it to your table soon!

Greek Style Chicken Caesar Salad

This is my version of Caesar Salad, a lot like the classic one but with a Greek twist. I think it’s the perfect marriage of Mediterranean and classic Caesar, once you add olives to your Caesar salad you’ll never go back!

Ingredients:

  • 2 grilled chicken breasts (sliced)

  • 3 cups romaine lettuce (chopped)

  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

  • 1/4 cup Kalamata olives (sliced)

  • 1/4 cup croutons

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp Salt

  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine chopped lettuce, grilled chicken, feta, olives, and croutons.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.

  3. Drizzle the tahini dressing over the salad and toss to combine.

  4. Serve immediately.
