Clementine Moscow Mule

I’ve had some fun making cocktails with fresh clementine juice lately. I was in the mood to use the juice because I have so many fresh clementines in the house at the moment.

This is the season when they are delicious and ripe, perfect for juicing! This Clementine Moscow Mule is the first one I’m sharing because it’s really great to serve in the cooler months

For this drink I swap the traditional cranberry juice for fresh clementine juice. The citrus flavor is divine and pairs so nicely with the spicy ginger beer.

I’d recommend serving this at cocktail hour, or with a big bowl of chili. It will quickly become a favorite new twist on a classic cocktail you know and love.

Clementine Mule

  • 2 oz Vodka

  • 2 oz ginger beer

  • 2 oz clementine juice

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • ½ oz simple syrup

  • Clementine slice for garnish

Homemade Simple Syrup (or you can use store-bought):

  1. Place 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and warm it over medium heat. Stir the mixture gently until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Use as much as you need for the cocktail and save the rest in a covered container in the refrigerator.

To make the cocktail:

  1. Add a handful of ice to a Moscow Mule mug.

  2. Pour the ingredients over the ice and top off the mug with more ginger beer if you’d like a fuller beverage.

  3. Garnish with a clementine slice and serve.
