PULLED PORK NACHOS

There is something about winter sports watching that screams for Pulled Pork Nachos. My kids love these any day of the week, but I usually reserve making them for events when people are coming by or we are sitting down to watch the big game. As you’ll notice, I make this easier on myself by using white cheddar cheese sauce that is warmed on the stovetop instead of baking these in the oven.

In my opinion, pulled pork or chicken make the best nacho toppings. I do like chili as well, but that is soggier and the chips are harder to pick up when there is chili on them. For these nachos I used pulled pork I bought at the store. You can easily make it at home if you’d like, but to save time I buy the pre-made pork. It tastes wonderful and warms up quickly in the microwave.

Once the ingredients are ready all I have to do is assemble my platter! In this instance I’m using a great platter that’s a lazy susan. How cool is it that it rotates so everyone can get the nachos they want?! Any kind of platter you can line will work well for this dish. I layer the ingredients together so they all stay on top of the chips and don’t topple off to the side. Then, I serve them right away with plenty of napkins and small plates on the side.

This really is a great method for making classic nachos. It is endlessly adaptable as well! If you are in the mood for spicier cheese sauce, please feel free to make that. Or, you can try pulled chicken or no meat at all in lieu of pulled pork. You really can’t go wrong! As I mentioned, this is great to serve a crowd or have for a fun, easy dinner when your kids get home from school. I hope you enjoy them for your next gathering!

Pulled Pork Nachos

I love making a big platter of nachos when people swing by. I know they can seem intimidating to make because of all the ingredients, but they are actually very easy. I like to serve mine on a giant lazy Susan because it makes it easy for guests to spin it around and enjoy the parts they like.

  • 8- 10 people

  • 2 bags Tortilla Chips

  • 1 lb pulled pork

  • 2 cups Melted Cheddar Sauce – White Cheddar sauce

  • 2 cups Pico de Gallo

  • 1 cup black beans

  • 1 cup Guacamole

  • 2 whole Jalapenos, seeded and sliced

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • Arrange the chips in a tower on a tray or platter lined with foil.

  • Distribute the pulled pork evenly over the chips.

  • Next, evenly drizzle the white cheddar sauce over the pulled pork so the nachos are completely covered.

  • Then, spoon the beans evenly over the cheese sauce.

  • Use a spoon to drop the guacamole evenly around the nachos on top of the bean layer.

  • Scatter the jalapeno slices on top and dollop the sour cream in even mounds around the nachos. Or, if you have a squirt bottle, add the sour cream to it and use it to drizzle on top nicely. Enjoy!
